Who I am
I was born in Rome, Italy on Epoch 12.121.800 GMT. For those who are unfamiliar with Unix OS
this number represents 21 May 1970, 7:10 GMT.
I started using computers in the early 1980s, the golden age of 8 bit
computers. My first love was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K. Its BASIC
language had me spend many hours in school classes designing sprites
of dubious morality on chequered notebooks. From those times of
early programming experiments, I never stopped developing on
computers. The late 1980s was the time of Altger Chat, a Germany based Unix host accessible through
an X.25 network called Itapac and our self-made V21 modems running at the incredible speed of 300 baud (something like 0.0002 Mb/sec).
After a high school degree in Electronics and Telecommunications I started studying Mathematics
at the University of Rome and working at the same time as a programmer and network administrator.
I discovered Internet programming in 1993 working as a volunteer in a university project called "Virtual Campus".
In 1995 I founded Alpha Channel Interactive Srl, my first web agency and since then I've been
almost exclusively programming Perl on Linux servers with Apache and mySQL. In
1999 I founded my second IT company, ForteYang Srl.
